Hall of Fame 2013 Award: Cleveland Clinic’s Crowdsourced Blog

Summary

The Healthcare Internet 2013 Hall of Fame award went to Cleveland Clinic.  Their ‘Health Hub‘ is a health, wellness and medical blog, filled with topical blog posts by its specialists. It not only receives about 1 million visits a month, but those posts are further distributed to Yahoo’s Health section and news sites, including CNN.com and FoxNews.com.

I wonder … what if Media Psychologists crowdsourced content from those among the APA Divisions – on health topics that interest the public?  And, what if we offered a 1 credit-practicum for graduate students to rotate as curators for that Psychology Hub?

By the way, check out the topic headings. Notice that there is NO Mental Health or Behavioral Health Topic. I believe that if psychologists want to be integrated into healthcare, we need to have a more active social media strategy of our own.
